We have been with Exetel for many years and had no cause to complain about their ADSL service. A number of line faults took time to repair, but their attention to having the fault repaired as quickly as possible was appreciated. The technical team is really rude they have hung up on me on two occasions when i asked to speak to the manager (with no call back). Well I currently have two accounts with Exetel and they have been billing me twice and they send me emails stating you are in arrears and I have contacted them twice telling them about the issue but obviously the matter has not been resolved. Im changing my nbn provider. I DO NOT recommend exetel to anyone. For a number of reason.

Exetel doesn't really know why the OP's connection has dropped until it investigates.
