Nov 01, 2013 · Switched the pickup to the dirty fingers (as it is supposed to be the pickup in my Gibson ES 347, which I now really doubt) and it sounded like a sledge hammer pounding on an anvil. Nov 24, 2009 · The first good electric guitar I played was a '84 Gibson Explorer with Dirty Fingers, they are classic '80s metal pups! I think their replacements, the 500T/496R, sound a little better and are less prone to squeal in my experience, but I wouldn't pass up a good deal of DFs.

Jun 23, 2018 · I owned a 80s Flying V which hosted Dirty Fingers and bought recently a vintage DF with goldcover and gold pickup screws. All were rating close to 16 kOhm. If yours rates just 8 kOhm and shows the T Top print it seems likely that Gibson used a T Bucker, put two sets of adjustable screws in an put it into a Box with Dirty Fingers Logo.

Mar 09, 2011 · The Dimarzio Super Distortion has more to offer than the dirty Fingers. We did a recording comparison yesterday, "Over the Mountain" by Ozzy, and while the Dirty Fingers sounded good on lead, the Dimarzio SD has more bite and clarity for that particular song.
