Aug 30, 2005 · the difference is that Herzig will make a custom map based specifically to the shape of your eye... while Lasik will use a standardized general map... this means that for most tipical eye corrections you shouldn't have to worry.... its when you're outside of the "normal eye shape" that it can require a more precise map.

Herzig, on the other hand, said my right eye was too myopic and doing LASIK would have left my cornea too thin. Also, Herzig included everything in the cost, and offered a more customized surgery. LASIK MD didn't, and I would have had to pay for things like painkillers and eyedrops separately.
