Sep 10, 2011 · A couple friends of mine have had engines done by Hughes. These were done way back in the early 90's. Both engines ran EXTREMELY WELL. One guy still has the 383 in his Barracuda and that engine, as aggressive as it is, would drive across country. That being said, my F-I-L had taken his 400 down there for a rebuild and ended up with a 440.

Apr 11, 2014 · Just my 2 cents. A Hughes cam is the only cam I have ever wiped a lobe on. I used the cam lube, pre-oiled the engine, etc, and had 3 lobes go bad during the break in. I have built several engines, never a problem until that one, and no problems after. I will accept the blame, but I am suspicious of their aggresive cam lobe profiles.

Sep 07, 2012 · I have a Hughes 340 stroker kit in my 69 Dart. Just got the car together this spring. I have absolutely no complaints about the kit. I had Hughes do the short block assembly and I did the rest. They also did my head work and balancing too. For the money, they are the best!
