Feb 11, 2020 · Complaints about their data caps are fully warranted. 8 hrs of standard def vid will consume 168 GB per month of data. No satellite service provider comes remotely close to providing a data allowance that is practical for internet service. Even cellular service providers have figured this out and most major providers have a solution.3/5

Because I have worked with other systems I was able to get us online. Hughes Net was very slow because no accelerator was installed. That was on Friday. On Monday, called Hughes Net and they added the accelerator. Internet still at time sslow even that it is a dedicated line to the Hughes net server.that was just a passthru.

Hughesnet is not by any means the worst corporate villain out there, and their products will not kill you like cigarettes, known and deadly automotive defects and medical devices with documented (and lethal) side effects, to name a few, but if you have any other alternative for internet service then by all means buy that rather than getting Hughesnet Gen 5 internet satellite.1/5
