Jaydess: Levonorgestrel belongs to the class of medications called progestins, which is a hormone produced by the ovaries. I just wanted to give my experience of the jaydess coil as I couldn't much info about it at all before I had it fitted. It is the new coil, made by the same people as the merina but its a quarter of the dose (eqiv of one pill a month) and smaller so is mostly aimed at women who haven't had children.
