Dec 21, 2010 · We talked with both companies (and others) and felt Kurk Homes was superior. Design Tech "nickeled and dimed" us to death and wanted to charge us twice what Kurk Homes charged us for the lot preparation. We have been in our Kurk home for a year and a half and love it! All warranty items were handled promptly and we are still talking!!

All the complaints I'm reading here are the same old story, nightmare actually, that I am living. I recently had a Weekley home built and it is the worst decision I ever made in my life.

The contractor who says you can build a home anytime during the year is not wrong. What’s important is to check out the reputation of the builder. If there are a lot of complaints against the company, it may be that it doesn’t take the proper precautions to protect the quality of the foundation in extreme weather.

I work on new construction homes here in Houston both inside and outside the loop. I'm not going to slander anyone's company but for custom built homes my preference is Kurk homes. Things that are also worth noting anything inside the loop will be build to much better standards than a typical suburban home.
