Jun 11, 2019 · Went online and found a replacement buttstock for my Browning BSS on Macon Gunstocks Web site. Called them and was assured that stocks were made on C&C machine and would be a DIR stock.(drop in replacement) Received stock and it did’nt even come close to fitting. Even the screw pattern for trigger guard tang and butt plate were way off.

Sep 08, 2011 · The wood was plenty strong enough for a 308 HB. Did have to do some channel work, and some work on the inletting, but not alot. Heard others had more struggles, but never seen the extent in person to judge the "pain-in-the-ass" factor.
