Thank you all for your comments. I just bought a 2014 Jeep Compass as NEW but it had been driven by an employee of the dealership as a program car. I was encouraged to buy the MOPAR extended warrranty. Less than a year into driving, I find out that this extended warranty overlaps with my manuf. warranty of 3 years or 36000 miles.

The reason we scoff at your search is because of that tricky word ‘warranty’. Many companies use this word to inaccurately label their products. According to the Vehicle Protection Association, only a manufacturer can produce a warranty. This means that unless your extended warranty comes from Chrysler itself, it isn’t technically a warranty.

I bought the extended, not lifetime mopar care warranty and was told as long as it was not used it would be refunded at the end or if you sold the vehicle. I was not told it would be prorated down to nothing tho.

Chrysler warranty LIFETIME NEW VEHICLE UPGRADE PLAN is not a lifetime warranty it is limited by both time and mileage. What a ripoff! I believed I had a lifetime warranty to match the lifetime for drive train I had with my 2008 Jeep Patriot, instead it expires in December.
