In 2015, NHBC contracted a local building company to address the issues and after spending fifteen months looking through plastic sheeting and scaffolding the builders left the site in December 2016. Either the repairs soon failed or the NHBC authorised works were inadequate, and the problems with water ingress quickly returned.

An absolute disgrace. Our shared drive has not been done to the specification. The builders don't give a damn, their customer service manager smugly said that the NHBC document isn't worth the paper it is written on!! NHBC haven't even been to inspect the drive that is breaking up across all four homes, it is less than 2 years old.

I waited the 10 days for a response and then had to call the customer service team at NHBC, the lady confirmed they had my email and had given me a reference number. The only issue was the NHBC was unable to help with less than half of the complaints. 1.

We may or may not get a positive result but what it does mean is that all complaints have to be investigated. Although it is free for the complainant, the NHBC has to pay a fee for every complaint that is made against them and they have to investigate the complaint and respond to the Ombudsman which will cost them time and money.
