We purchased two Oyster cards at the Heathrow Terminal 5 tube kiosk. We paid £15 each - £5 refundable deposit and £10 travel credit. We registered our cards on their website which was a good thing because I lost my first card and was able to purchase another one, transferring the balance from the first card to the second card.
