So I would like to register my complaint in hopes that something could be done to rectify the situation. The car is in the shop presently being repaired. The head gasket and manifold gaskets need to be replaced, which constitutes tearing half the engine apart.

Description of the Complaint: Intake manifold coolant leak caused engine failure. *ak intakes manifold gasket was replaced. Gasket now has a new part number to correct the defect on the original component, GM claim #1-180791866. GM has recalled for coolant leak, but it was on a different model. Also, lower intake manifold gasket was leaking.

Aug 10, 2011 · Good suggestion, but I have an Edelbrock Pro-Flo system with a gen 1 intake manifold. If I got vortec heads I would have to get a new manifold, injectors and rails for about $950. So far the plan is to stick with gen 1 type heads. From what I have heard and read, there is a lot to choose from and they flow as good as vortec heads.

Dec 05, 2017 · Make a copy of the bulletin as provided in the previous posts and show it to the service manager. Ask why he isn't doing what GM states should be done. Escalate issue to dealership General Manager and then to local GM ombudsman (or whatever they are called today). Seems like a known problem with a well-documented solution. Good luck.
