Jul 21, 2012 · Reservations.com has so many complaints about it from scamming people and fraud that the more powerful option is for everyone who gets scammed to file a credit card dispute with their issuer. I too thought I was booking directly through the hotel. It is deceiptful to impose a $14.95 service fee that was never disclosed to me at the time of booking.

All business will get complaints. How those businesses take care of those complaints is what separates good businesses from the rest.

I didn't give it tremendous thought, thinking this is how the hotel must be doing reservations these days. ... Please read the complaints on this site about any of the OTA's.

Reservations.com is the worst 3rd party site as they charge for room, tax, reservation fees that are not-refundable even if you cancel. Expedia, Hotels.com, Booking.com, Trivago, Priceline.com just to name a few are 3rd party websites that charge full rack rates.

Reservations.com proceeded to charge me for the full amount at hotel #1 at $700 CAD and $700 CAD at hotel #2. After almost two months, extremely rude and poor customer support and even though I followed the cancellation policy I have received a partial refund of $300 CAD for not even staying in this hotel.
