I had a related experience with Sixt in Miami Beach.I rented on line for two days but returned the car after one day. They charged me for both days rental, because, apparently, in the small print of their Terms and Conditions, they state that on-line rentals do not qualify for refunds for early returns.

Sixt car rental is literally the WORST… If I could give SIXT Rent A Car LLC a ZERO star rating, I would. The element of flexibility in modifying your reservation without ensuing an absurd additional cost is non-existent. Their prices fluctuate at an unpredictable rate.
