For High Blood Pressure: "I have been taking 50mg of Spironolactone (together with 2x50mg Loxen) for 12 days. Effects will certainly still evolve, but in my case it lowers BP, makes me lose water, raises my low potassium, might help against my hirsutism (too early to tell), lowers my appetite and eliminates PMS.

When I first started taking spironolactone I was given 50mg/day then went up to 100mg/day, then down to 75. Kept this dosage for a year or 2. Side effects were minimal, or not noticeable and the pros of clear skin far outweighed the bad. I generally had excess water weight and this helped that a lot.

She prescribed Spironolactone 50 mg and said to go to 100 mg if it was well tolerated. It was developed as a blood pressure drug and acne isn't even listed as a condition it treats on Drugs.com! I was warned about its diuretic effect and told to drink lots of water.
