Nov 08, 2019 · Folks that are struggling to find a good high efficiency washer need to read this and expect to pay a bit more for their appliance than all of the familiar brand names. I've had a Staber washer for over 15+ years for a family of four washing 8 loads a week. They are not a 'major' brand but their equipment works very well.

Not true, Staber claims it is gentler, but this machine tumbles the fabrics against each other instead of rinsing water through the fabrics like a conentional washer. Colors are more likely to smear when agitated more roughly, the tumbling action is definitely rougher than sloshing in in 20 gallons of water. >

To dj-gabriele, I know about the Top-Load H-axis thing. There is a brand of Top-Load H-axis washer here in the USA. It is called Staber. It is not widely known but it seems to be gaining in popularity. Also, I know about Top-Loading dryers. One company I know that does this is Fisher & Paykel. Attached is a link to the Staber website.

Nov 13, 2007 · Normally, ya sure, ya betcha. But, at present, Staber is having big production problems sourcing the motor control board for their washers. As a result, shipping times are in excess of 8 weeks! So, unless someone want to wait 2+ months for their new washer, I recommend that people either limp along with what they have or look at something else.
