The automatic transmisson on my 2004 Nissan Maxima gets stuck in 5 gear and there is a very violent hard jerk when shifting from drive to reverse then back to drive. I have to park the car and shut it off for about 30-60 seconds for the gears to resto reset the gears back to first gear.10/10

I have had a 1990, 1995, 1998, 2001 and a 2004 Maxima. The 2004 is my last Maxima ever. If I could drive it off a cliff -- I would, just to be rid of it. Our 1995 has 131,000 miles and it is runs better and is it quieter than our 2004. Never ever get the new model in its first year.

2004 Nissan Maxima My 2004 Maxima has been very reliable as was the Maxima that I owned previously. I purchased it used in 2013 and have been extremely happy. My mechanic cannot believe how this car runs for a 14 year old. In fact he offered to buy it from me. This vehicle has comfortable seating and it has climate control that has not failed.
