Option One (AKA H&R Block) basically threw me to the wolves when they sold my mortgage. I was not given an opportunity to find a replacement mortgage company after Option One went "belly up". I hope and pray that the current "mortgage meltdown" completely decimates any profitability for AHMSI, its CEO, and their board of directors.

Complaint / review text: After losing my job and trying to work some type of financial arrangement out with Option One now DBA American Home Mortgage Servicing, they ripped me off by making me send to them multiple Repayment plans—with thousands of dollars in Down payments, then monthly payments 3 to 4 times the amount of my original mortgage payment.

While trying to gather all document for a loan modification with my lender, AHMSI, I was told multiple times the wrong information, horrible customer service, they "lost" faxes I sent to them, and was even harassed and called a liar. After many complaints and a talk with a supervisor, I was told that there was no foreclosure date.

Our mortgage was with Option one and then transfered to AHM. It was at the same time that our ARM kicked in. Lucky for us we got a good local mortgage company to finance us and give us a good fixed rate. We are closing on Oct 1, We shouldve already closed but AHM has given the new company the run around on our payoff.
