Breck's does not back up their guarantee deer will not eat their bulbs & flowers. Deer, I have found out, will eat anything if they are hungry enough!! They will sell you bulbs that are guaranteed not to be eaten by deer and in fact deer do eat their bulbs.

Sad news for all gardeners who sometimes mail order plants or bulbs. Brecks is no longer Brecks. Look at the fine print. Brecks made a tragic mistake and is now GARDENS ALIVE doing business as Brecks. Brecks is also affiliated with Spring Hill Nursery. We have been scammed before by both Gardens Alive (microscopic plants) and Spring Hill Nursery (tiny plants or roots barely alive).

Oct 21, 2003 · I placed a large order for my fall bulbs from Brecks early enough (July). After 3 months and many phone calls, my order finally arrived - but there were only 2 small bags of bulbs, and they were not the ones I ordered!! To top it off, they charged me shipping on the entire large order that I had originally placed.

Mar 11, 2014 · I've had mixed results from Breck's related companies, Michigan Bulb and Springhill. The peonies I ordered were just fine, but I would hesitate to order from them again just because they don't ship in a timely fashion. The last bulbs I ordered didn't arrive until the ground was frozen solid and I had to put them in a pot.
