I’ve used Expedia in my home country to book hotels with no complaints - everything has even perfect there. However, we recently travelled to an “all inclusive” resort in Cancun, where Expedia really let us down. First and foremost, the pictures of the resort advertised were NOT where we actually stayed.

The hotel wanted to charge me for one night (understandable). When I reached out to expedia to cancel the remainder of the booking, they also reached out to the hotel and forced them to wave the charge. As long as you stay directly on the expedia website, I can nearly guarantee that you won't have any issues.

The hotel has agreed to it but Expedia told me they will get the authorization tomorrow and if the hotel agrees, then will give me the refund. But their refund reviews on TrustPilot are so bad. I'm actually worried if i'd be refunded even if the hotel agrees.
