Aug 29, 2019 · It won't do anything to lower property values. Those apartments were built because of their proximity to the Rail Road. Since they've been built, rents in that area have moved higher and higher and property values in the vicinity of the apartments and Main Street area are rising.

The LIRR might be a possible option for daily commute. Is the train quiet/smooth enough to sleep on? Are they usually on time? When I lived in SF Bay Area, I took Caltrain a similar distance. But about once a month, a car or person would get hit by the train and we'd be stuck for hours.
