Price assurance is : if a person books a ticket at Oh let's say $150 on orbitz, and two days later someone else books the same exact ticket at a lower rate on orbitz, you will be refunded the difference. I think you are getting price assurance confused with price matching, because Orbitz doesn't match prices at all!!

Apparently price assurance is not available on any package vacations. I booked my vacation with Orbitz less than a month ago and now see that the price of the vacation has dropped by approximately $500. Orbitz will do nothing to assist with a price adjustment.

Feb 26, 2014 · Last year, Orbitz launched its own rewards program called Orbitz Rewards (read more here) and part of it was a new best price guarantee program that promises to refund the difference + give you $50 to $200 in Orbucks.. Orbitz used to have something called “Price Assurance”. They probably spent 100 times more running the never ending ads on TV compared to actual “assurance” payments.

You book a flight on Orbitz, another Orbitz customer subsequently books the same itinerary at a lower published fare, Orbitz automatically sends you a check for the difference, from $5 up to a maximum of $250 per traveler.

Price Assurance is a feature of Orbitz that guarantee the lowest fare for you. It works like this "You buy a ticket today. Orbitz is ok. But the price assurance is a catch. They advertise that they will give a refund if the price goes down on the flight that you booked with them, but you need to read carefully because it is not that simple. For you to get a refund another passenger needs to book the same flight, the same day at the same time and it has to be the same itinerary.
