Fellow Sandvoxers, with real regret I today filed a formal complaint with the California Attorney General about Karelia. In June I canceled a hosting account that a client had with them, and as others have reported here, Karelia went ahead and charged his credit card anyway, even after his site went dark.

With no Sandvox update in years, the Karelia forums are littered with complaints of non-responsive support leaving Sandvox users in a state of uncertainty.. A long time ago, I posted about trying to pick a comment system. At the time, Haloscan was the built-in option for Sandvox, and JS-Kit was the only other alternative I could find. I was worried about Haloscan because there were complaints that comments were deleted after one year. But I couldn't get JS-Kit to work nicely with Sandvox.
