Simarc is an unethical company charging extortionate late payment fees. They claim to have sent several reminders, when this is not true as I have only received one payment request. I have 2 properties and should have been charged £260.00 for ground rent, however without my knowledge they charged my card 2 seperate payments of £392.00 each.

You therefore have right to withold the charge (although note Simarc could just recity this in future and send valid demand, if they did this, Id suggest just sending them £25 and say that is a reasonable amount for a late payment charge).

I have logged on to this site today as I too have a concern re SIMARC. They have written to me on behalf of their clients, the Freeholders "in connection with the proposal of a conservatory at my address"?? We bought this house in 1974 with a 999 year lease. We pay £15.00 per year ground rent. To be absolutely honest I thought that was it.
