Sep 12, 2017 · enough space to stop a jet engine noise? that's not much of an exaggeration. Being stood next to a plane's engine at take-off is 130DB a Sun Conure calls at 100DB. It's pretty darn close in terms of noise and they will do it every single day. A Sun in an apartment is doomed to failure unless you do some extensive and expensive sound-proofing.

If he were going on and on for hours on end or if he were making a lot of noise in the late night (he's asleep then and doesn't make noise) it would be a different story. ... Mar 11, 2005 · Re: how are conures in apartments? I wouldnt suggest getting a larger specied conure in a apartment and even the smaller ones can be a lil noisy. The larger species are quite loud and would probably end up in several complaints from your neighbors and from your landlord.

I really wanted to get a sun conure, so went to listen to some and had a talk with a staff member. she said 3 sun conures had been returned in the last month because of complaints from neighbours about their noise. i live in the suburbs so won't be getting a sun conure any time soon

Our letting agent allowed us to have our parrot (a conure) on a no complaints basis, and it's been two years and nobody has said anything. Our landlord hasn't even raised the rent, so he must be pretty happy. But we live in a really old apartment block with thick brick walls, so that helps a bunch too.

Aug 27, 2007 · I wouldn't risk a sun conure for an apartment. You can get quiet ones but if you happen to get a particularly noisy sun your neighbours will complain for sure. I have a sun conure & I can asure you it isn't a matter of getting used to it or a matter what you call noisy. If it's gonna be noisy your neighbours will not be happy about it.
