    The SRA are completely useless at investigating complaints - and I've seen that work against solicitors too. If there's any inherent bias it's against those that they regulate. I sympathise entirely with your frustration. Is there any way in which you can pursue your claim against the solicitors through the court by way of a claim for compensation?
