I've been a customer of TECO for 22+ years and maintained an excellent standing. I've had family and friends use me as a referral when getting service and not having to leave a deposit. Dec 05, 2011 · I too was charged an additional deposit because I was late paying my bill. Payday didn't always come in time for the due date. But there were times I did pay on time, using the online bill pay option, but no one at TECO would see that until 3 or 4 days later, after the due date, so they still claimed late payments against me.
