    Contacted Alltel technical support two times to resolve problem. Was told by Alltel technical support that due to the Alltel/Verizon merger, the Sprint tower I was getting service from previously was no longer available and that my service was now coming from another tower.

    Also, T-Mobile is not "bigger" than Verizon. (Neither is AT&T but I assume they soon will be) AT&T is buying out T-Mobile, which will then limit their selections of "feature" phones even more (similar to what happened to Alltel when Verizon bought them out) Alltel phones are no longer being produced and have become obsolete.
