Zaffiro cuts loose with a brief but blistering guitar solo. The acoustic based "Only Eyes" slowly proceeds through its verse portions until it reaches a stylish chorus with a laid back feel. While Zaffiro's lead guitar work is very well done, I wish he would have chosen to extend it by several additional seconds.

"The Other Side" indeed does show another side of guitarist David Zaffiro. David Zaffiro completely abandoned the metallica Bloodgood sound on this, his first solo disc, for a more melodic, hard rock sound. At points I wouldn't even call this hard rock, as songs like "Spirit Of the Lord" are very personal, intimate, melancholy numbers.

Jan 15, 2018 · David Zaffiro came to fame in the mid to late 80's as the lead guitarist for the Christian Metal group "Bloodgood" which was named after the bass player Michael Bloodgood. "The Other Side" was David's first solo album and in my opinion his best. The album starts out with 2 great songs "Stay" and "I See Red" which I think are the best.4.7/5(8)

David Zaffiro was the lead guitarist for Bloodgood - a Christian heavy metal band. David's solo work takes on a different direction - melodic hard rock. This is a great album worth every penny as are all of his solo albums. One song seems to flow nicely into the next with great music song after song..

Surrender Absolute is a great album that shows off his obvious music talent to go with his talented guitar playing.
